Kenwood KCA-IP500 iPod adaptor key features

If you have an older model of Kenwood head unit (without the Direct iPod Control feature) the KCA-iP500 will allow you to connect, control and charge your iPod.

It will display and select music files from Music Menu (playlist, artist, album, genre). It will allow random and repeat play functions.

It will provide a power supply for the iPod and charge its battery while in use.

The KCA-iP500 is compatible with the following models of iPod:

• iPod (3rd / 4th / 5th generation models)
• iPod Mini
• iPod Photo
• iPod Nano (1st / 2nd / 3rg generation models)
• iPod Nano (4th generation model) *
• iPod Classic
• iPod Touch (1st generation model)
• iPod Touch (2nd generation model) *

* the KCA-iP500 will not charge the battery of these models

Notes on use:

• It is important that your iPod is loaded with the latest edition of Apple software from the iTunes website, otherwise a connection error may occur.
• Depending on the model of Kenwood head unit used, source name may be displayed "EXT-MEDIA", "*-MEDIA" or CD Changer ("CD-CH" etc.)
• The Kenwood head units DNPS (disc name preset) function will not operate with the KCA-iP500
• When re-connecting your iPod to the KCA-iP500adaptor, the first track played will be the track you played last with your iPod, During this track, "RESUMING" will be displayed, since the title number and title name cannot be retrieved
• When browsing item or title is changed, the first track selected will be automatically recognised as track number 1, disc number1 in the Playlist, and correct title number and name will be displayed
